AFTERNOON CARE PROGRAM
End of School Day- 6:00pm Daily
Our Afternoon program runs daily from the end of the school day until 6pm. While supervised and led by our engaged staff, we provide an integrated family oriented atmosphere that captures our students. Our understanding of each child’s individuality is what makes ACE’s program function to its full ability and is what our program philosophy stands for. ACE offers a wide range of activities that meet the needs of each child’s interests without a highly structured environment. Each day offers Enrichment Programming with several different components. Our staff is readily available to encourage our students in the process of creative learning by encouraging independence. ACE will offer a variety of activities and enrichment programs daily that is up to each child's choosing on what they want to participate in. Our main goal is for ACE to provide an environment where all children feel safe, comfortable and at home while enjoying their after school care experience. Each day offers Enrichments from our 7 Key Program Components.
ACE'S 7 Key Program Components
1) Homework /Tutoring: Each day we provide an hour of quiet space for our students to work on homework with the assistance of staff members. We understand that homework can be a challenge and we are here to help support students in getting it completed.
2) Daily Enrichments: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM): Students have the opportunity to choose daily from a wide variety of structured activities led by the staff. During this time there will be a staff led outdoor game, in addition to a STEAM activity. This is our students favorite time of day where they are able to choose what they want to do. Children will have the choice to participate in staff organized activities or enjoy free play time in the classroom or playground. The goal is to allow children to decompress, laugh, and find something enjoyable and engaging while spending their afternoon along with friends and staff.
3) Healthy Snack and Active Lifestyle: Each day we provide a nutritious snack that is served with fresh fruits and vegetables. Through open ended play, children can take advantage of our outdoor space by exercising their creative confidence and imagination. While encouraging the value of physical activities, children will build their teamwork skills through staff led games.
4) Maker Space: Where DIY meets education and imagination! Children are encouraged to explore our collaborative workspace through hands-on learning and interactive experiences with readily available materials to inspire creativity.
5) Project Based Learning (PBL): Our project based learning guides children to explore a variety of skills such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity, while enabling our students to combine their learning with life skills.
6) Cultural Programs and Activities: At ACE we embrace all cultures and traditions. We integrate them into our program by exploring them in our classrooms through enrichment programming that includes performing and fine arts, music, and cooking.
7) Special Days/Celebrations: Special themed days and celebrations are a HUGE part of our ACE program. A theme day at ACE is a special day in which we revolve all our activities around a certain Holiday, Celebration, Cultural Day, Sporting event etc. (I.E. Opening Day, Halloween Carnivals, Chinese New Year, St. Patrick's day etc.) Themed days always include an Art Project, STEM project, Cooking Project as well as an outdoor/indoor game all planned out by our staff that is fun and exciting.
